The stupidness applies to car paint, wall paint, nail polish and all other paints... It's so freaking annoying. My work mate is painting her apartment and she chose "Naturally Calm" & "Drum Beat", these two names describe a coffee coloured paint and one sort of wine coloured paint.It's funny no?I mean when I first showed my friend Nadine my 2005 R6 she asked me what colour it was.She was standing right in front of it. I didn't understand what she was asking me. I said your standing right in front of it what colour do you think it is? I told her it's RED She responded with an eye roll and said "No Stupid, I mean what is the name of the colour! I know its red but what kind of red. You know like the colours for cars eg: silver birch" I started laughing because the colour of the bike was just red. Plain and simple.Nadine said that wasn't very much fun so she renamed my paint to "French Hooker Lipstick Red", from that point on if ever any one asked me what colour my bike was I would always tell them French Hooker Lipstick Red.
Not only is this entertaining but it’s descriptive.
I can just picture as most of us can some French Hooker wearing a bright red glossy lipstick.
Back to my work mate “Crystal”. When I asked her initially what colours she's planning on painting her new apartment she told me the names of the colours but I just couldn’t picture them. I tried hard but there wasn’t any chance of me getting any idea. SOOO…
I asked her to tell me in Layman’s terms what colours she is talking about… I wasn’t able to picture either one from their names.
Maybe paint companies need to hire more literal and creative peeps such as Nadine.
Just a thought.
