I should have posted about this a while ago...

... but as life would have it, I got really busy.

I received a letter of apology from The Keg's General Manager (Estate Drive Location).
I don't know what it was I expected, but I feel fine about it.
He said in the letter that they will look into the policy that caused us all (including the Keg) such a headache.
He said SORRY! (something I thought I would never hear)
He is even willing to have Bobby and I for dinner one night at his location...
Will I ever take him up on it... Not sure.
I think that from this point on the Estate Drive location will bend the rules when it comes to reservations for large groups. I just hope that other locations do the same.

I'm still mad at the Keg, I don't know if it will go away, but I do know this...
26 people showed for my dinner at The School (fine dining establishment). We had an awesome time. I even wore a dress. :D

Just sayin.

In the Interest of Fairness...

... My previous post about MY KEG EXPERIENCE is just that. It's my experience.
Truthfully it's the first time that I've had a bad experience at any Keg location.
Unfortunately it's left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Yesterday I received a phone call from the General Manager of the location. The Keg's Head office forwarded to him the email I sent to them.
We spoke briefly as I was visiting family.
He sounded very pleasant, and as if he genuinely wanted to come to a resolution.
We arranged to discuss this topic further on Friday.
I'm sure he's going to offer a dinner for Bobby and I, but I'm not sure that's what I want.
I don't want to be bought and sold like that.

I want the company to revise their policy, to allow for exceptions when large groups are wanting to spend their hard earned money at their establishment.
I guess we'll see what happens.

I have a good feeling about him.

Dear The Keg.

I had called your restaurant at 60 Estate Drive today to make reservations for a group of 20 people (important occasion: MY birthday).
Instead of booking my reservation, and hanging up the phone I had to deal with a bunch of pricks who basically said that my money and the group of 20 mean nothing to them so "NO" they do not book reservations for Saturday evenings because they are very busy, and it doesn't make sense for them to take reservations. They even went as far as asking if I would like to schedule my even for a week day when they take reservations because they are not as busy.
WTH? this is just plain nasty.
I even asked them if they would reconsider. They said no.
I talked to the manager and he made it abundantly clear that there is no way that they would take my reservation and the only other suggestion they had for me was to sent a representative from my party to the restaurant 2 hours early so that The Keg will put them on to the waiting list.
HUH?

I wrote their head office a letter:

"I am beyond disappointed with your policies regarding large groups and reservations on Saturday evenings.

I was told that I can NOT make reservations for a group of 20 at your 60 Estate Drive Location instead I am to send a representative from my party to your restaurant 2 hours early to wait in line for a table so that we may eat and spend our money at your restaurant.

Then I was asked if we could come on a week day? (as you take reservations on week days) You have got to be kidding me.

I am bringing a large group of people (mature adults) to celebrate a milestone at your restaurant, and you want me to reschedule my event to a week day because you’re afraid of loosing money?

That’s what it comes down to.

Your managers even made it clear they are afraid to loose money because my group may not show up. Saturday is their busy night.

I’ve been a customer for many years. I’ve even had some memorable occasions at your restaurants. My husband proposed to me in your Leslie street. location September 29th 2006.

It makes me sad that I may never step foot in your restaurants again.

I’ve taken my event to a high end restaurant, who is willing to take my reservation, and who is always happy to see me. (I suppose my money is good there)."

I know I will not likely get a response, frankly I don't much care but they've lost a long time and loyal customer.

I could kick myself for all the money I've spent there. Geez.

So... We are now going to The School Fine dining... It's a lovely place... I've held many events there, and frankly I am stoked. I can't wait.

The staff there are awesome, and the quality of the food is beyond anything The KEG is capable of.

Is this Adam Giambrone's Mayoral Pitch?

I'm not sure what to say ...
I think I am a little surprised at the fact that he thought this was a good idea.
I've watched the whole video (don't ask me why) and I'm saddened that Mr. Giambrone thinks that this is a good PR move for a mayoral candidate.
I don't think he did a good job while at the TTC, and definitely don't think he'll be a good Mayor.
If he couldn't sort out the issues of the TTC, what makes him think he can handle the "Mega City" of Toronto?
I think he's just that guy who want's to be able to say that he did all this stuff before the age of 40. I'm not willing to be a political notch on his belt.
He posted this video on YouTube, then almost denied that he was planning on running for the City's top job. Well... he officially announced today that he will be running for mayor.

Sigh. I quit.

It's time for GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH # (I forgot)

... So I was writing a post for the InsuranceVixen blog, and it had to do with the distracted driver legislation. (Starting today police in Ontario will be ticketing those who refuse to put their hand helds away)
I thought it would be nice to add an image.
As always I searched Google's image cache for hands-free and this is what I found...
